The UWC President gave special attention to the importance of building up UCU’s School of Rehabilitation Medicine, which was founded by Dr. Ulana Suprun, former director of humanitarian initiatives of the UWC and current acting Minister of Health of Ukraine.
Benefactors and sponsors of UCU pledged 6.5 million hryvnias in support of the university. And the Zahorii Family Fund promised another 2. 5 million hryvnias for the development of the recently opened UCU Kyiv Center.

Thanks to the generous support of benefactors and sponsors, more than $750k was raised for UCU at these events.
Fr. Prach became a laureate of the prize of the international Omelan and Tatiana Antonovych Foundation for his book “Clergy of the Peremyshel Eparchy and the Apostolic Administration of the Lemko Region in 2 volumes, Volume 1: Biographical Sketches (1939-1989), Volume 2: Documents and Materials (1939-1950).” The awards ceremony was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA on 22 October.
Zahorii Family Fund Allocates 5 Million Hryvnias for the Development of UCU’s School of Rehabilitation Medicine
As part of the project Rehabilitation of the Future, the Zahorii Family Fund and the Ukrainian Catholic University signed an agreement on cooperation according to which dedicated costs in the sum of 5 million hryvnias will go towards the realization of the Rehabilitation Center project at UCU’s School of Rehabilitation Medicine.
This year the first, unprecedented Comprehensive Campaign of the Ukrainian Catholic University “A New Generation for a New Ukraine” is coming to an end. On this occasion, the USA and Canada are hosting fundraising events that gather dedicated supporters who understand the importance of a quality higher education for the development of Ukrainian society.
UCU has completed a competition among graduate students to receive the Bohdan Solchanyk Scholarship. Solchanyk was a hero of the Heavenly Hundred and an UCU professor. Ivan Almes, in his second year of studies in UCU’s doctoral program in history, is the scholarship’s first laureate.
These are foreseen in UCU Strategy 2020 and respond to current challenges in the life of our academic community, and in separate questions which cause the University to reflect on UCU’s future even after 2020.
