University elite of Europe will gather in Lviv from May 20-23, 2010, for the General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities (FUCE)
LVIV – University elite of Europe will gather in Lviv from May 20-23, 2010, for the General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities (FUCE). Over 30 rectors, vice-rectors, and heads of international departments of Catholic universities in Europe will take part.
In particular, such countries as Portugal, France, Belgium, Poland, and Slovakia will be represented.
The meeting will take place at the Ukrainian Catholic University. The participants will discuss how Catholic universities can improve the society through education, scientific search, and service.
As part of the visit, plenary meetings and group discussions are planned. The highlight of the event will be the speech by Fr. Michel Quesnel, Ph.D., Catholic University of Lyonnel.
In addition, the Lviv City Council will officially receive the assembly. The program will also include a tour of Lviv, for it will be the first visit to central or eastern Europe for a majority of the guests.
The Federation of Catholic Universities of Europe is a regional daughter organization of the International Federation of Catholic Universities. The Ukrainian Catholic University has belonged to both organizations since 2003, representing not only Ukraine but also all of eastern Europe.
