Purpose: to conduct scholarly research in the sphere of the Ukrainian theological lexicon.
The Institute combines the results of philological and theological studies of the Ukrainian spiritual word, its role in the development of the Ukrainian Church, in nurturing spiritual individuals; it also studies linguistic specifics of sacred texts and studies the religious lexicon diachronically and synchronically.

Fields of activity:

  • Assembling a Liturgical Dictionary which is to become part of a Complete Dictionary of Theological Lexicon and Terminology
    The dictionary will consist of liturgical terms which are recommended for use in modern theology, ecclesiastical speech and during liturgical services. Outstanding theologians from Ukraine and abroad are engaged in the work.
  • Final editing of material for a dictionary of theological synonyms
  • Unification of spelling rules for biblical and proper names
  • Consultations and aid in editing and translating theological texts
