The International Higher Education Support Program (HESP) of the Open Society Institute is pleased to invite Concept Proposals for the new projects within its Regional Seminar for Excellence in Teaching (ReSET) to commence in 2010.

ReSET supports the development of teaching excellence at the undergraduate university level in the region and establishes a framework for the long-term collaborative development of scholarly teaching in areas and subjects of particular importance for the development of undergraduate teaching and curricula in the humanities and social sciences in the region. Projects supported through ReSET involve groups of junior faculty participants from the target region and international teams of resource faculty who engage as academic peers in critical and creative rethinking of the current scholarship and the approaches to undergraduate teaching and in development of effective and innovative approaches to the subjects, curricula, classroom practices and engagement with the undergraduate students with orientation on the most progressive scholarship in the academic fields. Rooted in the concept of continuous development and self-renewal of university academics, ReSET creates opportunities for qualified and dedicated regional and international faculty to make a substantial contribution to the advancement of teaching and learning in their subjects and fosters their leadership in the process of educational change in the region.
