On the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language at UCU, the long-awaited textbook “Yabluko” has been published
To celebrate the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language at UCU, the long-awaited textbook “Yabluko”, which was written by Nataliіa Bartkiv and Ksenііa Borodin, has been published! This is the third book in the “Yabluko” series of Ukrainian language textbooks. It is geared towards foreign learners, and has been published by the School of Ukrainian Language and Culture. Here, for over 20 years, they have been utilized in teaching Ukrainian language to foreign students, increasing the popularity of Ukraine across the world. This is an Intermediate-level (B1) textbook, which is ideal for people who may have some prior knowledge of Ukrainian language from family heritage, and for students who have already learned Ukrainian at a basic level. The textbook comes with a workbook and audio recordings to complement each section. Please visit the school’s website for more details: https://studyukrainian.org.ua/books/
Nataliіa Bartkiv: “We are delighted to present the fruits of our labour after many years of work. We have written it with much love, and it contains an imprint and the vision we had of Ukraine before the start of the full-scale war. We hope that our textbook will contribute to a better understanding and greater support for Ukraine in the world, and therefore to our victory.”. Ksenііa Borodin: “A textbook – this is also a weapon. Due to the war, interest in Ukrainian language across the world has grown – this can be seen, for example, in statistics from Duolingo, where the number of users who have chosen to study Ukrainian language has greatly increased. We think that it’s extremely important to build on this new interest, in particular through high-quality teaching and study resources. We believe that our textbook will be a reliable source of support for those who want to understand Ukrainian language and culture more deeply.”
