Topics: PhD projects in all areas of population studies are welcome. Candidates working on issues related to the core research areas of the Office for Population Studies – population ageing and/or families in transition – are strongly encouraged to apply. Comparative projects are highly desirable.
Fellowship: The total financial compensation paid to the fellow is 16000 CZK per month (approx. 620 € by current exchange rate; fellowships are tax-free according to Czech legislation). The fellowship is for one year, renewable – upon evaluation of the fellow’s performance – for up to 4 years. Fellows must be enrolled in the Sociology Ph.D. program while receiving the fellowship. Full or partial tuition waivers are available on a competitive basis.
Application procedure: Candidates submit their Ph.D. application in the standard manner (details about Ph.D. admission procedures can be found at http://www.fss.muni.cz/en/site/studium/doktorske/programy) and express their interest in this fellowship by sending a copy of their dissertation project with a brief explanation to Lenka Kratochvílová ([email protected]) at the same time as they apply for admission into the Ph.D. program. The Sociology doctorate program at Masaryk University is conducted entirely in English. The fellowship has no citizenship requirements.
Deadline: typically the last day of November for fellowships commencing in February of the next year, or the last day of April for fellowships beginning in September.
